A law allowing the deployment of Armed Forces units abroad during martial law is adopted

Today, on January 15, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted as a whole a bill concerning the deployment of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine abroad during the period of martial law.

According to Mind, citing European Solidarity MP Oleksiy Honcharenko, 317 MPs supported Bill No. 12378. The authors of the legislative initiative note that its goal is to ensure effective defense and cooperation with Ukraine’s partner countries, and to attract international support more quickly and effectively.

According to the document, Ukrainian units will be sent abroad for training, equipment, and deterrence of aggression. The President will make the relevant decisions upon the recommendation of the Verkhovna Rada.

The law contains additional guarantees, including clear instructions on the tasks of the units, their number, and terms and conditions of stay outside Ukraine.
