On February 6 (exactly six months after the start of the Kursk operation), the Armed Forces of Ukraine began an active offensive in the Kursk region. This was reported by Bukvy, citing the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
During the day, the Defense Forces advanced about 5 km from the town of Sudzha. Geolocation data shows that our troops have moved southwest of Makhnovka and north and east of Cherkaski Konopelki along the 38K-028 Sudzha-Oboian road and are already in control of Kolmakov and Fanaseevka.
The enemy’s defense ministry says that the Armed Forces attacked in waves in the direction of Cherkaska Konopelka and Ulanok, using up to 2 mechanized armored battalions. The attacks were repelled, they say.
Ukrainian Armed Forces are favored by bad weather.
Russian military commanders claim that up to 50 armored vehicles were used in the Ukrainian offensive. One of the Ukrainian armed forces groups successfully attacked from Makhnovka in the direction of Cherkaska Konopelka, Fanaseevka, and Ulanok. However, the attack from Dmytriukove in the direction of Ruska Konopelka was allegedly repelled.
Some enemy military commanders reported that the Ukrainian Defense Forces were in control of Cherkaski Konopelky and Ulanky, while other informants denied this. At the same time, the Institute of War Studies does not yet have data on the presence of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Ulanky. Also, an unnamed Kremlin-linked military commander noted that there is “raw” information that Ukrainians are advancing near Kruglenky.
The Russians complain that the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ operation was launched during unfavorable weather conditions that prevent the Russian army’s drones from working.

As reported earlier, the General Staff summarized the results of the six months of the Kursk operation.
